HOT CHAI RECIPES
David Rio makes it easy to make a great, hot chai latte - any time of day. The real spices in David Rio's endangered species chai line, including cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and ginger, are what make the exotic flavors of the David Rio family of chai stand out from the rest. Follow directions below to make any of our chai products into a delicious chai latte.Hot Chai Latte
Add 2-3 Tablespoons of David Rio chai to 7 ounces of hot water
(or milk/milk substitute).
For a low-calorie option, use Orca Spice or Flamingo Vanilla
Sugar-Free chai powders.

(For coffeehouse preparation, we recommend adding David Rio chai to hot water, mix well, then add steamed milk heated by the steam wand on the espresso machine.)
SPICY MOCHA CHAI
1. Add 2-3 Tablespoons of David Rio chai to 7 ounces of hot water
(or milk/milk substitute).
2. Add a shot of your favorite chocolate syrup or your favorite chocolate powder.
3. Stir in a pinch of cayenne pepper and garnish with steamed milk or foam.
4. Stir and enjoy.
Alternate: Add a shot of espresso for a delightful mocha and top with whipped cream for extreme decadence!
PUMPKIN CHAI LATTE
1. Add 2-3 Tablespoons of David Rio chai to 7 ounces of hot water
(or milk/milk substitute).
2. Add a shot of your favorite pumpkin syrup.
3. Stir and enjoy.
Optional: Garnish with whipped cream and ground cinnamon.
SALTED CARAMEL CHAI LATTE
1. Add 2-3 Tablespoons of David Rio chai to 7 ounces of hot water
(or milk/milk substitute)
2. Add a shot of your favorite Salted Caramel syrup and a pinch of salt.
3. Stir and enjoy.
Optional: Garnish with whipped cream and caramel syrup.
Maple Ginger Chai
Add 1 1/2-2 Tablespoons of David Rio chai and place in large cup.
Use 1 C of hot, steamed milk, but only add 2-3 ounces of hot water (or steamed milk/milk substitute) to make a concentrate to release spice flavor in the chai. Add remaining hot water or milk.
Then, add 1 teaspoon of maple syrup and 2 slices of fresh, peeled ginger root, stir, and enjoy!
*For a low-calorie option, use Orca Spice or Flamingo Vanilla
Sugar-Free chai powders.
Eggnog Chai
1-1/2 tablespoons of Tiger Spice Chai®
5 ounces (150 ml) of hot water, milk, or milk substitute
2 ounces (60 ml) of steamed eggnog of choice
In a mug, dissolve the chai in the hot water, milk, or milk substitute. Add eggnog, stir, and enjoy.
Optional: Garnish with cinnamon.
Peppermint Chai
1. Add 2 tablespoons of David Rio chai to 7 ounces of hot water, milk, or milk substitute. Add more less chai as needed.
2. Add a shot of your favorite peppermint syrup OR a few drops of mint extract
3. Stir and enjoy.
Optional: Garnish with whipped cream and crushed candy cane sprinkles.
Coconut Chai
1. Add 2 – 2 ½ tablespoons of David Rio chai to 8 ounces of hot water, milk, or milk substitute. Add more less chai as needed.
2. Add ½ oz of coconut syrup
3. Stir and enjoy.
Watermelon Chai
1. Add 2 – 2 ½ tablespoons of David Rio chai to 8 ounces of hot water, milk, or milk substitute. Add more less chai as needed.
2. Add ½ oz of watermelom syrup
3. Stir and enjoy.
PB & Chai
4 tablespoons (45 g) Elephant Vanilla Chai
12 ounces (260 ml) of hot milk
3 (or more if you like PB) Reese’s miniature peanut butter cups

COLD CHAI RECIPES
Cool down with a delicious ice blended chai made with
David Rio's Chai® and share with friends and family.Ice Blended Chai
1. Start with 1/2 cup milk.
2. Add 5 Tablespoons of powdered chai.
3. Add about 8 oz. of ice.
4. Blend well until smooth.
5. Top with whipped cream if desired.
Variation: Try adding a shot of your favorite flavored syrup, espresso or chocolate powder.
Chai on Ice
1. Add 3 Tablespoons of David Rio chai to about 2-3 ounces of
hot water or milk/milk substitute and stir.
2. Pour over a cup of ice. Some of the ice will melt from
the hot water.
3. Add another 1/2 cup of water or milk/milk substitute
and a little more ice.
4. Stir and serve.
(You may also prepare a pitcher of chai ahead of time, keep chilled, then stir and pour over ice when serving.)
Blended Chai Smoothie with Fruit
1. Start with about 1/2 cup of water or milk/milk substitute.
2. Add 4 Tablespoons of chai.
3. Add one banana (or use 1/4 cup of blueberries or any other fruit of choice).
4. Add about 8 oz. of ice.
5. Blend well until smooth.
Variation: Use David Rio's Toucan Mango Chai and fresh mangoes for a delicious, refreshing treat.
Ice Blended Chaigurt
Place all ingredients together in a blender.
1. Use 1 cup of vanilla yogurt (Greek yogurt recommended for a thicker consistency).
2. Then add 6 Tablespoons (2 scoops) of Tortoise Green Tea chai or ANY David Rio chai powder.
3. Add 1 1/2 cups of ice cubes.
4. Blend on high speed for about 30 seconds and serve.
OPTIONAL: For a spiked version, add 1 - 2 shots of Cointreau Orange Liqueur.
Chai Fro-Yo
6 ounces unsweetened plain yogurt
4 ounces frozen yogurt powder base
4 tablespoons Tiger Spice Chai®
9 ounces ice
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
Makes one 16 serving.
Mint Infused Iced Chai
Fresh mint leaves
1 part Cub Chai Super Concentrate
5 parts water
In a pitcher, crush mint leaves slightly with a muddler.
Stir in Cub Chai and water.
Let chai steep in the refrigerator for about one hour, and serve over ice.

Chai Recipes for Baking
Pam Lowe, the mother of Scott - the President of David Rio, baked these yummy chai cookies. They were so delicious that we asked her to share the recipe, which will delight anyone who loves chai and baking alike!Grandma Pam's Chai Cookies
1 cup granulated sugar, plus additional for rolling
3/4 cup butter, room temperature
1 egg
2 tablespoons baking soda
1/2 cup molasses
2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup Tiger Spice Chai® (or any other flavor David Rio Chai)
DIRECTIONS
In a bowl, cream together sugar and butter until smooth. Add the remaining ingredients and mix until blended. Chill mixture in the refrigerator, covered, for 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Take mixture out of the refrigerator and form into 1-inch balls. Roll each ball in sugar and place onto an ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
Makes approximately 50 cookies.

Chai Recipes for Alcohol
Serve Chai in your drinksDirty Chai Cocktail
2 ounces (60 ml) Cub Chai Original
1 ounce (30 ml) unsweetened
vanilla vodka
½ ounce (15 ml) Kahlúa
1 ounce (30 ml) milk or cream
Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well. Strain into a cocktail glass and serve.
